Aion 2 goes free to play on October 5. Here's everything NC sells.
| What | Price | What it gives you |
|---|---|---|
| The game | Free | Every zone, every dungeon, no level cap |
| Special Quai Membership | $15 per 30 days | Buying on the Market, the Kina ↔ Quna Exchange, personal trade, remote storage, a second Odyle Energy injection on reward cubes |
| Daeva Pass, standard track | Free | Rewards as you play through it |
| Daeva Pass, premium track | Quna, no price announced | Bonus rewards on the same track, sold per character |
| Shop cosmetics | Quna | Outfits, wings, pets, weapon skins, accessories |
| Shop consumables | Quna | Potions, resurrection stones, all of them earnable by playing |
| Founder's Pack | $24.99, $49.99 or $99.99 | Five days of head start, skins, a supply chest, 30 days of membership |
Two currencies. Kina is earned by playing and buys from other players on the Market. Quna is bought with money, pays for everything in the shop, and buys other players' Kina through the Exchange.
Pay-to-win covers two different complaints. One is paying to skip grind in a game where your progress costs nobody else anything. The other is paying for power in a game where somebody loses a fight because you did. Aion 2 is the second kind. Elyos and Asmodians meet in the Abyss, and what you're wearing decides what happens there.
Without a membership you're a seller who can't buy
The Special Quai Membership is $15 for 30 days, bought in game under Subscribe. It applies to the server you bought it on and nowhere else, and you can only top it up while you're under 60 days banked.
| Free | Membership | |
|---|---|---|
| Server Market | List items, no buying | List and buy |
| Cross-Server Market | Neither | List and buy |
| Personal trade | None | 5 a day, and the other player needs one too |
| Kina ↔ Quna Exchange | No access | Open |
| Storage | Storage NPCs only | Remote, from your Cube |
| Reward cubes | Inject Odyle Energy once | Twice, in Expedition, Transcendence and Sanctuary |
A free account can list items and take the Kina. It can't spend that Kina on anything another player listed.
The cube row is rewards rather than comfort. NC hasn't said how much the energy cap goes up by.
Nobody sells you gear. They sell you Kina
NC's own words: "One player lists Kina for sale, another spends Quna to buy it. All exchanges happen between players; the game makes no listings or purchases."
All true, and it's the whole machine. Quna is bought with money. Quna buys another player's Kina. Kina buys gear and Enhance Stones on the Market.
The far end of gearing is what makes it bite. Unique gear enhances to +15 and Heroic to +20, then takes five Amp levels on top, and success rates fall to around 60% by +16. Every failure eats materials. There's no point where a player has enough Kina.
The pass is where upgrade materials turn up
Shop consumables "can assist you during combat but do not affect gear progression or long-term power". The Daeva Pass is a different product, and it carries "cosmetics, items, upgrade materials, and other in-game currencies". The paid track stacks more on top of the free one.
No price announced yet, and no word on which rewards need the Quna. It's sold per character rather than per account, so alts pay again.
"Wings" means two different things here
The shop's cosmetics list reads: outfits, wings, pets, weapon skins, accessories. "Purely aesthetic. Cosmetics sold in the shop give no gameplay or combat advantage."
The client has 45 wing pairs. Twenty carry no stats and no enchant levels, and every one of those is Special grade. The other 25 carry combat stats, PvE Attack, Penetration, Front and Back Attack, PvP Damage Boost among them, and enchant to +10.
Blazing Sun Wings, the pair in the $99.99 Ultimate pack, is Special grade with no stats. It's a skin, exactly as advertised.

The cosmetics claim holds. The word doesn't: wings in a shop listing and wings in your gear are different objects.
Korea heard this promise on launch day
Aion 2 opened in Korea and Taiwan on November 19, 2025. By that afternoon the Quna shop was selling Combat Enhancement Scrolls and Soul Books, items the studio had said wouldn't be sold for money. Emergency maintenance went up the same day, the items came out, and every player got 100 scrolls and 50 books as an apology. So Inseop, NC's head of business: "We included these items in the Quna shop for player convenience, but that was shortsighted and careless on our part."
The global build is lighter than what Korea runs: one membership instead of two tiers stacked on 28-day cycles. That's worth crediting.
It's also the same promise, drawn in the same place, and in Korea it held about a day.
If you go to the Abyss you're playing against the Exchange
Play solo, run dungeons with your guild, stay out of faction PvP, and $15 a month buys convenience you can skip. You'll level at the same speed as everyone else and gear slower.
PvP changes the sum. The Asmodian who drops you in the Abyss may have turned a card payment into Kina into +18 on their weapon that morning, and nothing they did broke a rule or bought a stat from NC.
Treat the $15 as the price of the game rather than an upgrade. A free account isn't locked out of Aion 2, it's locked to one side of the economy: you can sell in, you can't buy back.
Prices, benefits and the Exchange wording are NC's own, from the Team Update of July 8 and the membership notice of August 18; the wing split is the client's data via aion2.app, and the Korea account is Asia Business Daily's.
