Gearing and enhancement: what to upgrade, in what order

Enhancement, stat lines, mana stones, transfers, pets, wings and Arcana, in the order to spend on them.

5 min readUpdated Sep 13, 2026

Every piece of gear carries several upgrade systems at once. Some survive a transfer to a better item and some don't, which decides where your materials should go.

What every item carries

Enhancement and Amp levels

  • Unique (yellow) gear enhances to +15 and Heroic (orange) gear to +20, using Kinah and Enhance Stones.
  • Both then take five Amp levels with Amplify Stones, each adding orange stats. At max Amp a weapon gains 150 Attack and 5% attack increase; accessories gain 100 Attack, 200 defense and 5% attack increase.
  • Success rates drop to around 60% at +16.
  • Weapon and guard first. They carry your highest offensive stats and share the same stat lines.

Stat lines worth chasing

Each item rolls lines from its slot's pool. Reroll one line with a Synch Stone of the same grade — a lower-grade stone has only a 10% chance to change anything. Soul Codex: Reset books shuffle every line at once.

When you land a good set, move it to better gear with a transfer rather than fishing again.

SlotLines to chase

HelmetSmite, attack increase

PantsAttack increase, perfect
GlovesPerfect, combat speed
BootsPerfect, movement speed

RingsAttack, then active skills

Fill every remaining line with Attack or skill levels. Rings are the only accessory with active skill lines, which makes them key to getting skills to level 20.

Mana stones and soul stones

Mana stones go in weapons and armor, soul stones in accessories. Each stone rerolls every socket on the item.

  • Aim for at least one yellow damage boost line. It's worth a full 1% of that stat, more than three blue rolls.
  • Best to worst: front/back damage boost, then weapon or critical damage boost, then damage boost, then attack. Two yellow attack lines are roughly one yellow damage boost line.
  • Don't spend superior stones on gear you'll replace. Stones are lost on transfer.

Soul binding and transfers

Soul binding raises the value of each stat line with Soul Codex books; every book is a guaranteed gain of a random size. Once every line reaches 100%, two Philosopher's Stones unlock an extra line. That line is lost on transfer, so try not to land a rare roll there.

Transfers move enhancement and stat lines onto a new item, using Transfer Stones built from fragments. One broken-down Heroic item gives five fragments:

Moving Unique gear up to Heroic needs five extra Unique transfer stones on top.

Pet Genus

Five boards with nine stat lines each. Raising a board's Insight level opens more lines and better grades, and analysing rerolls every open line.

  1. Level each board to 10 before locking anything. Level 10 gives the best odds of top-grade lines. The exception: lock a Smite roll of about 1.5% or more if it lands early.
  2. Reroll until lines 3 and 9 both show Smite, then lock them. Around 2% is a solid roll.
  3. Fill the rest: boss attack or crit on lines 1, 4 and 7; max attack or attack bonus on 2, 5 and 8; damage tolerance on 6.

You can save three Genus presets. Full detail in the Pet Genus guide.

Wings

Wings give stats when equipped, and extra stats just for owning them. Enhancing a pair, up to +10, grows its owned effect, so a large collection pays off even for wings you never wear.

Front-attack classes mostly wear Eroded Wings. Talisra's Wings, with cooldown reduction, are the common alternative, and nearly every Sorcerer uses them.

Arcana

Arcana cards each carry a Pantheon stat plus up to four stat or skill lines, and matching cards form set bonuses. Global launches with five card types and two sets, Primal Vigor and Magic Armor.

  • Early on, Pantheon stats beat set bonuses. Look for Time (combat speed), Destruction (attack increase) and Wisdom (Smite).
  • Use cheaper cards to push key skills to level 20 first, then work toward crafted cards.
  • Crafting lets you choose your lines. The Chalice has the widest pool and is hardest to roll well, so craft it first.
  • Level cards to 5 by feeding them other cards or Training Arcana. Feeding an old card into a new one keeps some of its experience.

Where to spend first

  1. Enhance your weapon and guard.
  2. Push your key active skills to 20 with rings, Arcana and Daevanion tiles.
  3. Level every Pet Genus board to 10, then roll Smite.
  4. Reach the accuracy and crit targets for your content.
  5. Save superior mana stones for gear you'll keep.
  6. Grow your wing collection and closet over time. Both are slow, permanent stats.
