Five boards, nine slots each, and these slots are the only stats in the game you pick outright rather than reroll and hope. Global's layout isn't Korea's, which matters because the Korean layout is what every video shows.
Slot 4 is the board's whole point
Slot 4 is the only slot that differs between boards, and it's the only one that carries a multiplier. The other eight are the same five choices on all five boards.
| Board | Slot 4 | If it won't roll |
|---|---|---|
| Special | Double ChanceKorea calls this Smite | Nothing. Keep rolling |
| Varian | Front/back damage boost | PvE damage boost |
| Fera | Weapon damage boost | Damage boost, then PvE damage boost |
| Cogni | Critical damage boost | Damage boost, then PvE damage boost |
| Natura | PvE damage boost | Multi-hit, then Perfect Chance |
Level the Special Board first. Double Chance adds 1.28 times what a point of damage boost does, the best rate on your sheet (stat weights has the rest), and this one slot is the only place on the boards you can get it. There's no second-choice stat for it: roll until it lands.
That makes Genus a thinner source of Double Chance than it looks. Your others are helmet and cloak stat lines, the Wisdom [Lumiel] Pantheon stat from a bracelet or the Arcana Mirror, and the owned effects of Nightmare or Illusory Echo Wings.
The other eight slots
| Slots | Take | |
|---|---|---|
| 1 and 5 | Max attack, then attack bonus | |
| 3, 6 and 9 | Power Shard bonus | Crit or accuracy instead, while you're under those caps |
| 7 | Damage tolerance or PvE damage tolerance, then endurance | |
| 2 and 8 | HP increase % | Leave them |
Max attack over attack bonus, every time. Both are flat and both are weak, but max attack raises the top of your weapon's range at about 0.13% per 10 points against attack bonus at 0.1%, and attack bonus lands in the pre-multiplier bucket your gear has already filled. You're picking the better of two poor options, not passing up a good one.
Slots 2 and 8 are the ones to walk away from. The crystals and Kina needed to force HP increase % there cost more than the stat returns.
Stop levelling at 9
- Don't lock anything until the board is done. A slot locked early caps your ceiling for good.
- Level every board to 9 by clicking Analyze. Not 10, which is Korea's number.
- At 9, open Auto Analyze, pick the board's slot 4 stat, set it to Unique grade, and run it.
- Rainbow Crystals work on any board, so spend them wherever if you have them spare.
- Upgrade order within a board: slot 4, then 1 and 5, then 6 and 9, then 7, and 2 and 8 never.
Korea rolls a different board
Korean and Taiwanese guides describe a layout global doesn't use. If you're following a Korean build video, this is why its slot numbers don't match your screen.
| Global | Korea and Taiwan | |
|---|---|---|
| Double Chance | Slot 4, Special Board only | Slots 3 and 9, every board |
| Slots 1 and 5 | Max attack | Boss attack, then crit, on 1, 4 and 7 |
| Slots 3, 6 and 9 | Power Shard bonus | Double Chance on 3 and 9 |
| Board level | 9 | 10 |
Korea's boss attack lines are flat damage added after attack increase has multiplied everything, which makes them strong while your attack pool is small and weak once it isn't. Global doesn't offer them on the boards at all.
Pets pay out just for owning them
A second system on the same screen, and nothing to do with the boards. Unlocking and levelling pets gives you passive stats whether a pet is out or not, and it climbs from farming mobs and from pet rewards. Global caps it at level 3, which is where the Pantheon stat lands.
Go for Might and Precision first: Might raises attack, Precision raises accuracy and critical hit, and those are the two the cap is worth spending on. All Cogni mobs give 1 Might each and all Natura mobs 1 Precision each. Select Source on a mob to see where it lives. If it shows no source, it's on the other faction's land.
In order
- Special Board to level 9, nothing locked.
- Auto Analyze its slot 4 to Double Chance at Unique grade. Keep going until it lands.
- The other four boards to 9, then their own slot 4 from the table above.
- Slots 1 and 5 to max attack, then 6 and 9, then 7.
- Leave slots 2 and 8 alone.
Genus is one of two places your damage comes from that a gear score never shows. The other is skill levels, in more damage at the same Combat Power.
Track it in the Combat Power checklist.
Slot layouts and the levelling steps are from the global revision of kanonxo's progression guide; the Korean column is the same doc's Asia section.
